Last month, my husband and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary.
Not in Paris, like we dreamed when we got married. Not in Montebello, like we have every year so far. Instead, we celebrated without any pomp or ceremony, at home together, with our two beautiful children.
Instead of gifts and a fancy dinner out, we stayed in and committed to making our shared space more beautiful. While we have always poured our energy into organizing and decorating our main living spaces, our bedroom had been a little neglected.
We updated our bedroom in several steps. We started by organizing our space and deciding which items to keep and what we should get rid of. We wanted a room that would be functional and comfortable for our family. Next, we updated our colour scheme and decor to reflect our own personal style. Finally, we chose finishing touches to tie everything together. You can see the transformation in the slideshow below -- starting with the room when we first bought our house, to the room before the makeover, to our new and improved room now!
